Emerald Agronomy & Turf Balancing · $155/mo

Keep your mower. We do the science.

Mowing keeps the grass short. It does not make it green. If the yard is yellow, thin, or weedy, that is a soil problem.

Emerald Agronomy & Turf Balancing is $155 a month. The visits put down fertilizer and weed control on a seasonal schedule, and Emerald is the plan that also checks the sprinklers — turn-on in spring, a look before the heat, a timer adjustment in midsummer, coverage in late summer, and a blowout before winter. Sage Lawn Plan is $135/mo, and it is the plan most yards are on. Green Lawn Plan is $55/mo. You keep whoever cuts the lawn.

The first visit includes a look at the soil and a sprinkler coverage check. We don't guess.

We are your Turf Chemists. You keep your mower.

I'm Michael. I own Mpire Home Services. The national lawn companies want the mowing contract and a new price every season.

Keep your weekly cut. Let us handle the fertilizer and the weed control that actually change the color. That is Emerald, at $155 a month, if you also want the sprinklers looked after. Most yards land on Sage, at $135.

What the visits do

About ten times a year. Early in the year, a crabgrass barrier before the seed wakes up. Spring is fertilizer and weed control so the lawn greens up without a surge you have to mow twice. Summer backs off the heavy feeding and deals with heat and the weeds that break through. Fall is recovery: fertilizer, and on Sage and Emerald, aeration and seed. Emerald also includes the sprinkler checks through the year and the blowout before winter.

The month-by-month product list, including the N-P-K numbers, is on the agronomy schedule. You do not need it to book.

When you should see it

  • After the first visit. Weeds we sprayed start to curl. Color often shifts within a couple of weeks.
  • The first summer. Fewer dry corners if the sprinklers are actually covering, and the lawn holds color through the heat better than a mow-only yard.
  • The next spring. Crabgrass does not get the same head start, because the barrier went down before it germinated.

About 10 visits a year.
