Early in the year we put down a crabgrass barrier before the seeds wake up. Spring visits are fertilizer and weed control so the lawn greens up without a growth spike. Summer visits ease off the heavy feeding and deal with heat, dry spots, and weeds that break through. Fall is recovery: fertilizer, and on Sage and Emerald, aeration and seed. Emerald also includes the sprinkler checks — turn-on in spring, a look before the heat, a timer adjustment in July, a coverage check in late summer, and a blowout before winter.
